Facebook Faceoff?!?! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

ARE YOU SERIOUS? I didn't know how to react when I read the Facebook Faceoff article on students at Syracuse University. I guess I felt sorry for them. I felt sorry for them that they are that immature. I felt sorry for them that they were so cruel. And I wanted to watch Chuck Norris roundhouse kick all of them in the face.

What the hell goes on in the mind of people that create these "hate groups"? So you don't like your professor? So what? There is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for slandering them all over the internet, and verbally attacking and abusing them. Because you don't like their lecture?!?!? Who the f*** are these women? It is horrifying to think that not only does this seem to happen somewhat frequently at this University (let alone anywhere else it happens) but these people could be my future coworkers. Or even more horrifying, a superior. There's nothing superior about any of these girls. Here's my big middle finger up to you- and anyone else who thinks they're big, tough college students.

I couldn't agree with you more. When I first started to read the article I thought that it was a joke - it could not be for real. It was shocking to think that these girls were college students. I've never met anyone quite like them (close, but not quite THIS bad) - and hope to God that I never do. What they created really was a "hate group."

If this event had happened before MySpace, Facebook, etc. existed, do you think the group would have still created such a "hate fan club" or not, since it wouldn't have been as easy to maintain it?

I know what you mean! I was a little pissed after reading that article. Who acts like that???!!
I felt those girls deserved exactly what they got! If they didnt like the teacher, they should have dropped or done like the rest of us and dealt with it. I thought it was harassment. Hell, if I was the teacher I would have sued for slander. (or can we not do that anymore)?

Exactly, there have been a lot of teachers and professors that I have found to be boring, or incompetent even, but I have never had the desire to start an immature "hate blog", or protest against them. That is part of life, you don't like everyone. I think the biggest reason these girls should have been kicked out of school would be that if you are immature enough to start those blogs and post those words, you are not ready for college, especially a good college like Syracuse.

I was so offended by this article I opened up a thread on facebook about it. I felt that that was a serious breach of their Rights. I mean, seriously, who is next after this? The media? Friends just bantering with another on campus?

Granted, I felt the group was immature and the girls weren't moral in creating such a group. However, we are not a totalitarian government. We still have our Rights and our Freedoms. Do I condone their actions, no. Do I support their rights as a United States Citizen? Yes.

I agree with you. It reminds me of something the bullies did to torture their peers in 6th grade. I thought we were over that stage of immaturity. I guess some people never grow up...
