unit 5

ok, here's the cliffsnotes on my paper for unit 5....sex and violence in virtual worlds, and how it affects the real world.

in SL, i managed to find and score some free threads and shoes...and i was so uncomfortable even changing my clothes...i felt like everyone else was looking at me change. did anyone else feel super vulnerable?

LOL. I felt the same way. It was as if I were changing in real life and could sense someone watching me. Too weird!

LOL I have to laugh too. I would walk all the way across the lawn, around the corner or somewhere way far away from everyone else & start changing the clothes & appearance. And even then I was worried about how long it was taking me and if someone was going to come walking past.

Oh, I was ripping my clothes off in front of everyone without really thinking about it! Hahaha.

Now that I think about it, that probably wasn't a good idea. I'm surprised that I didn't have any creepy people asking something dumb like if they could help or something. I think people in virtual worlds are a bit more pushy! But then again, I'm sure if I was changing in front of people in real life, I'd attract some creeps as well...

I didn't spend too much time in any one place, I was walking around confused most of the time. But, within the first 10 minutes I was virtually molested by some guy, I swear! LOL

I was asking someone for directions when this other guy slowly inched up to me and then grabbed my virtual butt. He was following me around and just kept saying "hi". It just shows there are creeps everywhere. Can you punch someone in Second Life? I should have punched him :)
